Weekly Game Update: May 6th - May 9th, 2022

Ok, so this isn't really a full week since I only started doing this a few days ago lol. Not a whole lot to update, especially since I didn't play a whole lot last week. I did buy some games though (plus finally got some codes working from a bundle I got a while ago), and thought I'd try and do one anyway just for practice I guess?

What Happened This Week?

New Games:
Pathway (Steam)
112 Operator (Steam)
Clubhouse Games: 51 Worldwide Classics (Switch)
Rune Factory: Tides of Destiny (PS3)
Trials of Mana (PS4)
Yakuza: Like a Dragon (PS4)

Finished:
None lol

Pokemon Picross (3DS) - 43:20
Ys IX: Monstrum Nox (PS4) - 1:57

Progress Updates

Pokemon Picross

I started this one up a while ago (and I could probably count it as finished tbh), but I'm still playing it so I mind as well mention it. Basically it's a whole bunch of picross/nonogram puzzles centered around Pokemon. I could go into a huge ramble and explain it, but I'll save that for when I've decided that I've finished with it and make a post for that.

Right now I've completed nearly the entire normal mode puzzles and challenges (save for 1 or 2 that are random spawns ugh), and I've started working through the Alt World. It's pretty much the same thing as normal mode, but the rules are a little bit different (if you know about picross, basically these are the mega puzzles) and the challenges tend to be a bit more difficult. I was originally going for completing all of the challenges here too, but some of them are just a big pain. I'm still tryng to complete them when I can, but for now I'm not going to go ham to complete them all.

Ys IX: Monstrum Nox

Not much more progress here (not like I started it too long ago though lol), but I did get another hour in. Unfortunatly defend the thing type missions seem to be a common thing going forward... I just hope they don't get too frustrating. Still pretty gray looking (minus a bit of green, but even that's kind of a dullish green), but some abilities to explore the city have opened up which is a plus.

Still quite a few tutorials and cutscences, so looks like this game really wants to take it slow lol. Plot wise not a whole lot has happened. Mostly just doing some errands to get some info on how to get into the big prison. I can't quite remember why we wanted to go there though... Probably to check out something suspicious or something? I tend to forget certain details like that, so I don't think that's the game's fault lol. Regradless, I'm still itching for the game to open up a bit more already!

I'm probably going to start another game or two this week... While theoretically it might be quicker to only have one big meaty game to work on, I like having variety way too much lol. It just keeps things fresh and engaging I guess XD

Backlog Update

Backlog: 975 (+10)
Time to beat: 676 days (+7 days, 9 hours)

Lol a big jump! I added a few games that I already owned but forgot to put in the backlog, hence the jump is +10 and not +6. Regardless, I don't care about that too much... I just kinda like keeping track cause numbers lol.

That’s all the updates for this week, but tune in next time to see what else I’m up to! Hopefully more Ys IX and maybe I’ll start some new games as well! :)
