Weekly Game Update: July 31st - August 6th, 2022
Wow, this week was way too dang hot! It would have been ok if my AC wasn’t still broken but well… It’s still broken :( Apparently it’s a special AC, so the repair guy had to order a part from Europe or something. I hope that part gets here soon cause I really can’t stand this heat. Didn’t really do a whole lot because of that, so I ended up playing 0 games… So this should be a short update lol.
I did at least do some reading though, so mind as well start with that!
Book Stuff
The Tea Enthusiast’s Handbook (Mary Lou Heiss and Robert J. Heiss) - 94/181 pgs
I only read 2 pages so… Don’t really have anything to say, but progress is progress!
Winter (Marissa Meyer) - 263/827 pgs
I plowed through a bunch of pages this week. Stakes are ramping up, characters are going through with their plan to get the big bad but oh no plans don’t go according to plan (of course). Lots of the characters are getting shuffled around and separated from each other.
I’m not sure what else to say about it cause I’m not particularly skilled at talking about the middle of a book lol. To be fair, it’s so far on the slower side event wise, so I can’t take all the blame I guess? XD I am enjoying it though!
Oh and with the prequel book that I read earlier, Fairest, I mentioned something about not understanding the point of reading it. While reading Winter, I did come across a few parts where Fairest actually did add something to the story, so yay for that! It’s not a whole lot (at least so far), but it was interesting to compare what characters thought happened at a particular event versus what actually happened. You wouldn’t get that if you hadn’t read Fairest beforehand. It’s still not a 100% required read or anything, but at least I got that little bit of insider backstory lol.

Adding games to the backlog means numbers go up! I’m surprised how much it went up tbh, since I don’t think I added anything too crazy lengthy, but I guess it adds up.
Anyway, that’s it for this rather short weekly update! I’m crossing my fingers that my AC gets fixed soon so I don’t have to feel like I’m melting all the time ;_;
If I can manage some game time, I think I want to put my efforts into consistently putting time into Everybody’s Golf, as time is running out for online and it’s not really a game that I can play a lot of at a time. I really also want to just finish Horizon Zero Dawn already cause I just want to be done with it already. I think I will try to do the ultra hard difficulty trophy, but if it ends up being too much for me then I’ll put it down and maybe try again later.
Then I really want to get back to Trails in the Sky, Soul Hackers, and Stray!! I hate being so slow on getting to them cause I’ve been so excited to play them but that’s life I guess.
